Portable restroom rental prices in Chicago
A quote depends on the unit type, how many units, how many days they stay, how often they are serviced, how easy the site is to reach, and extras such as accessible units, restroom trailers and handwash stations. Chicago Porta Potty Rental lists no price. The provider sets the figure and gives it to you in writing.
Two orders that sound alike can be very different jobs. Four standard units on a flat lot for a single afternoon is one thing; a trailer and twenty units in a closed street with a service round each morning is another, and the second takes more equipment, more trips and more planning.
That is why the table below shows what pushes a quote up or down, not a figure. The provider who hears about your event or site gives you the number, and the porta potty rental cost guide for Chicago explains why this site prints none. If you are choosing between a unit type and another, the standard portable toilet rental and flushable restroom trailers pages go through the choice.
| Part of the order | What moves the price | What to ask the provider |
|---|---|---|
| Unit type | Standard units, accessible units, restroom trailers and handwash stations are different equipment and are priced differently | Which type is quoted, and is there an accessible unit in the order? |
| Quantity | More units mean more to deliver, place, service and collect | How was the count worked out, and does it meet the published minimum? |
| Duration | An afternoon, a festival weekend and a six-month build are billed and serviced very differently | Is the quote per day, per week or per month, and what happens if the event runs over? |
| Servicing frequency | More frequent servicing means more trips, and a toilet that is not kept sanitary does not count under OSHA | How often are units serviced, and who do I call between visits? |
| Delivery access | Tight streets, closed blocks, stairs, upper floors and long carries add work for the provider | What access does the provider need, and what happens if the route is blocked? |
| Handwashing | A handwash station is a separate item, often wanted wherever there is food or a large crowd | How many handwash stations does the quote include, and are they stocked and serviced? |
| Event setup | Queues and a spread of units across a venue take planning | Where will units be placed, and who confirms the placement with the venue? |
| Season and weather | A summer festival Saturday and a January build are different to supply and service | How does the provider handle freezing, wind and heat for these dates? |
| Pickup | Removal after the event, or at the end of a long rental, is part of the job | Is pickup included, and when will units be collected? |
| Permits | Park District, street and film permits are issued by the city, not by the provider | Which permit does my event need, and what conditions does it attach to toilets? |

Five things that move your quote
Unit mix
A standard unit, an accessible unit, a trailer and a handwash station each do something different. A plain count of toilets does not tell you what the event needs.
Length of the rental
A single day, a four-day festival and a long construction job all change how the provider plans trips and servicing, which is why duration comes before anything else on the quote.
Servicing, not just delivery
Units that are not kept sanitary do not count toward OSHA minimums on a job. A cheaper quote with less servicing is not the same order.
Written, not verbal
A figure you cannot find in the written quote is not a price. Ask what it includes: delivery, servicing, removal and any extras.
Rules you must meet
City and OSHA counts set a floor for quantity. Where they differ, the stricter one governs, so the provider needs to know about both when quoting.

Frequently asked questions
Why does this site show no prices at all?
Because we found no Chicago figures we could verify, only national ranges from low-quality pages. A number printed here could mislead you. The provider who takes your order gives you a price, and you should get it in writing before any unit is sent.
Is it cheaper to order fewer units available than the published minimum?
It may lower the quote, but Chicago's code and OSHA set minimums for temporary events and building sites, and an event or crew under them is at risk. Ask the provider and the permit office rather than trimming the count to save money.
Why do quotes for the same event differ?
Different unit mixes, different servicing, different assumptions about access and different amounts of handwashing. Ask each provider to itemize and compare line by line, not just the bottom number. A very low quote that leaves out servicing or pickup is not a cheaper order.
Does the price change in summer or winter?
It can, because festival weekends are busy for every provider and cold weather changes how units are set up and serviced. Ask how the dates you need affect the quote, and book early for a peak weekend.
